Obituary for Pauline Parker Medley (Parker)

Pauline Parker Medley, age 90, of Canton, GA . joined her husband of 72 years, Clemmon T. Medley in heaven on Tuesday, March 04, 2014. She was called sister, wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor, friend, and teacher, loved and blessed. She leaves her cherished memory and loving legacy to her four children: Son - Douglas (Rosemary) Medley,
Son - Denver Medley, Son - David A Medley, Daughter - Nancy K. (Michael) Duncan. Eleven grandchildren: Nathan (Sherry) Medley, Walton Medley, Denver Paul (Erika) Medley, Vernon (Mandy) Medley, Matthew Medley, Lori Medley Long, Patrick (Deena) Medley, John (Peggy) Brown, Van Michael (Carolyn) Duncan, Mark C. Duncan. Eight great grandchildren: Jeffrey Beavers, Nathan Medley, Jake Medley, Ethan Medley, Landon Medley, McKayla M. Medley, Saiorse Medley and Parker J. Duncan. Two sisters: Jeanette Suggs and Betty Little along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pauline was born and raised in Lovejoy, Georgia. After graduating from high school and enrolling in classes for air craft construction; she worked at Southern Aviation during World War II. She married the love of her life, Clemmon, as he left for WW II. On his return from the War, they settled their nest in Atlanta, GA. and were blessed with four children. Her role as wife and mother and having her family grow and prosper gave her the greatest joy of her life. She was the most loving and caring mother and mentor to children in her church and community. Her passion in life was for teaching children, especially in Kindergarten, as she established the first Kindergarten classes in Cherokee County, in Holly Springs United Methodist and Hickory Flat United Methodist Churches. Child Evangelism was her goal and she attended classes (from Child Evangelism Fellowship Association) in this field of work. As she retired she worked in Atlanta City, Fulton and Cherokee County as a substitute teacher. She also did mission work with the local Hispanic Children's churches and was a mentor to teachers at Canton Community Church.
Pauline's life will be celebrated in a funeral service at South Canton Funeral Home Chapel (3147 Marietta Hwy. Canton, GA. 30114) on Friday March 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Charles Davis and Rev. Ken Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park, Canton, GA. The family will host visitation at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 7:00 until 9:00PM and Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 5:00 until 9:00PM and on Friday, March 7, from noon until the funeral hour.
