Obituary for Hanne Louise Sellers (Thygesen)

Hanne Thygesen Sellers, 73, of Canton passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014. Hanne was born and raised in Denmark. She was the daughter of Svend Thygesen and Laurientien Poulsen. Hanne moved with her family to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1957. It was there she met her husband of 53 years, Jimmie Sellers, while he was in the U.S. Navy. Since Jimmie is a native Georgian, they returned to Georgia when he retired from the Coast Guard in 1982. They settled in Cherokee County in 1983.

Hanne is survived by her husband, Jimmie Sellers; son, Mark Sellers (Jean) of Canton; two daughters, Laurie Sellers (Glen) of Canton and Charlotte Morgan (Shannon) of Dallas, GA; six grandchildren, Kelly Rodich (Rob) of Cumming, GA, Kristen Sellers of Canton, Luke Sellers of Canton, Lauren Sellers of Canton, Matthew Morgan of Dallas, GA and Katie Morgan of Dallas, GA; three brothers, Svend Thygesen of Denmark, Mogens Thygesen of Norway, and Jense Thygesen of Denmark; two sisters, Ilse Petersen of Woodstock and Henny Rassmusen of Denmark; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00 PM, on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Dr. Joe McKechnie officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, May 25, 2014, and from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at South Canton Funeral Home.
