Obituary for Janet C. Turner

Janet Calfee Turner of White, Georgia passed away on December 16, 2014. She was 67. Janet attended the Sunnyside Church of God, was a longtime pastor’s wife who loved Jesus and enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family and friends.

Janet was married to Reverend William L. Turner for 48 years and served alongside her husband in pastoral, administrative, Sunday School and youth ministry positions throughout Georgia and Florida. She is survived by her husband William of White, Georgia; son Bo (and daughter-in-law Melissa) of Macon, Georgia; son Lance (and daughter-in-law Lorie) of Canton, Georgia; brother Conrad Calfee of Benton, Tennessee; sister Louise Jones of Gotha, Florida; sister Clara Davis of Oneida, Tennessee; grandsons Blake, Dalton, Garrett, Tyler and Connor, a host of nieces and nephews and countless lives she impacted along the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Effie Calfee of Cleveland, Tennessee; brother Cecil, Jr.; sister Violet Swan; brother Milton Calfee and sister Martha Calfee.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Sunday, December 21 at Sunnyside Church of God with Bishop Dannie Hix officiating, preceded by a family visitation at 2 pm. The family will also receive visitors Saturday evening from 6-9 pm at South Canton funeral home. She will be buried at North Georgia national cemetery at 9:30 am Monday morning.
