Stella Elizabeth Breed Abernathy, 82, of Canton, GA, died March 10, 2010.  She was predeceased by her husband, Y.T. Abernathy, Jr.; parents, Alva Merle and Annie Mae Breed; brothers, Alva M. Breed, Jr. and Thomas Woodson Breed.  She is survived by her sons, Y. T. Abernathy, III, Duluth, GA, and Michael Alan Abernathy (Patti), Canton, GA; grandchildren, Lydia Abernathy Mondavi (Rob), Napa, CA, Michael Patrick Abernathy, Napa, CA, and Richard Young Abernathy, Canton; brother, Gerald Breed (Claudia) of Marietta, GA; sisters, Mary Jane Breed Burchette, Loganville, GA, Alice Breed Bates, Alton, IL, Jenny Breed Smith, Opelika, AL; brothers-in-law, Joe Tarver Abernathy, Albany, GA, William Broome, Oakwood, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was a member of Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church where she taught Special Needs children in Sunday School and was a member of the Chancel Choir. In her early years, she worked as a bookkeeper, piano teacher, and kindergarten teacher, but ultimately she was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday March 13, 2010 in the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home, 3147 Marietta Hwy, Canton, GA, with Mr. John Condra officiating.  Interment, 11:00 AM, Monday March 15, 2010 at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
